The Holding Room lived as an interactive and embodied meditation on the maternal embrace. A durational performance as part of visual artist Britt Karhoff’s “Mother Me” gallery show, this work investigates through audience participation, the spirit of boundless compassion. As the artist slowly moved through the space, witnesses were invited to be held in an act of reciprocal embrace.
